I am an Observer. A REaDer. A lover of story.
I am a professional, independent writer and essayist.
My niche and passion is writing about:
• life-changing experiences
• disability inclusion
• people making a difference in the world
• nature-driven design + sustainability initiatives
• all-natural, hand-crafted + eco-friendly lifestyles and product
As a parent disability advocate, my essays focus on growing disability communities, the possibilities of disability and acceptance of neurodiversity. I like to illustrate the power of unexpected connections and knowing you can succeed no matter what your obstacle.
On my free time I’m writing (or thinking about writing), selecting flowers to place in a jar from my cutting garden, or slipping away into nature. I make time for a walk or slow run everyday, and I am always reading or obsessing about what to read next. I need a stack of books on my bedside table. I love short stories, essays and memoir. And historical fiction. Some fantasy. Novels. Cookbooks. Whatever. (Theatre! Film! This American Life!) I’ll take a good story in any form.
I am mom to two amazing young men: a twenty-three-year old who has taught me to live in the moment and embrace difference, and my thirty-five-year-old who anchored my life years ago (and who is now rocking it as a software engineer in CT). I live in Southeastern, Pa with my husband (who is an amazing cook and adventurer), and youngest son.
I believe in simple, all-natural + hand-crafted, underscoring quality goods created by big thinkers driving change and dedicated to giving back. I am committed to supporting organizations that make our world a better place.
Have fun. Respect the planet.
